BBQ Sauce

  • 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 200g molasses
  • 100ml vinegar
  • 1 grated onion
  • salt
  • 1 red chilli

Put all ingredients into a saucepan (no need to fry up the onion first, we want the juice of the onion to be part of the sauce), bring to a boil and simmer for two hours. Stir occasionally.

If you want the consistency to be quite thick, you can add some corn flour.

The sauce can be put into sterilized jam jars and will keep that way.
