Meat Cake
Ingredients
- 1 kg mixed mince (beef and pork)
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 red chilli
- 30g parsley
- 8g salt
- 1 g ground pepper
- 70g cheedar cheese, cubed
- 1 pack of puff pastry
- 1 egg
Method
Finely chop the onion, parsely, red chilli and garlic. Mix with the mince and cheese. Add salt and pepper.
Form into a pie shape, and cover with the puff pastry (bottom, top and sides; crimp the pastry to form a seal). Put your child's age on top of the pie, and brush with egg.
Put into a 180 degree pre-heated oven, and bake for 45 minutes or until the core temperature reaches 70 degrees.
Put candles on top and light them when serving if you feel like it!
